依照《中華人民共和國香港特別行政區(qū)基本法》的有關(guān)規(guī)定，根據(jù)香港特別行政區(qū)行政長官李家超的建議，國務(wù)院2026年1月27日決定：免去曾國衛(wèi)的政制及內(nèi)地事務(wù)局局長職務(wù)。
李家超表示，早前曾國衛(wèi)因為健康理由提出希望辭職。他詳細(xì)與曾討論了解情況后，向中央人民政府作出建議，今日國務(wù)院根據(jù)建議免職。
