今天要給大家介紹的是位于三角座的螺旋星系M33，他是本星系群的第三大成員，僅次于仙女座星系和銀河系。M33被稱為三角座星系，有時(shí)候也會被宣傳為“風(fēng)車星系”，然而在正式的天文數(shù)據(jù)庫中，“風(fēng)車星系”指的是位于大熊座的M101，大家要注意區(qū)分哦。M33距離地球320萬光年，赤經(jīng)為1h33m50s，赤緯為30°39′36″。M33的視星等為5.72等，這讓他在野外十分難以被看到。我們會使用光污染等級作為描述此地區(qū)光污染嚴(yán)重程度，而M33由于其合理的亮度也成為了最佳黑暗天空的評判標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。如果能夠肉眼可見M33，那么便說明你身處最佳的觀測條件中。M33的視直徑為50角秒，真實(shí)直徑為6萬光年。想要觀測M33的話，我們可以先找到仙女座的奎宿九和三角座的婁宿增六，M33就處在他們的連線當(dāng)中，一年中最佳的觀測時(shí)間是十月到十二月之間。

M33據(jù)說在1654年由霍迪納發(fā)現(xiàn)，梅西耶在1764年的8月25號獨(dú)立發(fā)現(xiàn)了他。美國天文學(xué)家哈勃于1926年在M33中確定了35給造父變星，從而把M33定義為河外星系而不是河內(nèi)星云。2004年，有證據(jù)表明有大量氫氣流將仙女座星系與三角座星系連接起來，這表明這兩者在過去可能發(fā)生過相互作用，在25億年后，M33將有可能會與M31碰撞并且融合。2007年，利用錢德拉X射線天文臺的數(shù)據(jù)，在M33中發(fā)現(xiàn)了質(zhì)量約為太陽1.7倍的黑洞，是已知最大的恒星質(zhì)量黑洞，并且M33中心沒有超大質(zhì)量黑洞。

Messier's Note

In the night of August 25 to 26, 1764, I have discovered a nebula between the head of the northern Fish [of Pisces] & the large Triangle [Triangulum], a bit distant from a star which had not been known, of sixth magnitude, of which I have determined the position; near that star, there is another one which is the first of Triangulum, of sixth magnitude; it is less beautiful than that of which I have given the position, & one should set it to the rank of the stars of the eighth class [magnitude]. The nebula is a whitish light of 15 minutes in diameter, of an almost even density, despite a bit more luminous at two third of its diameter; it doesn't contain any star: one sees it with difficulty with an ordinary refractor of one foot. I have compared it to the star Alpha Trianguli, & with that of which I have reported the position.
