我問人性：人為何老在折騰？
人性分開了我所見的人格說：
錢，讓人又愛又恨，又生又死
權，讓人又尊又卑，又忙又累
名，讓人又紅又黑，又爭又悔
利，讓人又得又失，又奪又棄
我問靈魂：人為何那么矛盾？
靈魂撕開了我所見的好壞說：
色，讓人又瘋又癡，又貪又懼
情，讓人又迷又憎，又戀又恨
愛，讓人又喜又悲，又合又分
家，讓人又笑又泣，又聚又離
- 作者簡介：
易白，本名王增弘，退役軍人，文化學者，現居深圳。文藝創作三十余載，詩、文、歌、畫、影、音等作品，累計在各級各類比賽獲獎百余次，曾因文藝創作成果突出榮立二等功。

I asked Human Nature: why strive with such unrest?
It parted the selves I knew, and thus expressed:
Wealth — loved and hated, birthing life and death in turn;
Power — lifts and lowers, wearies as we yearn;
Fame — bright then dark, fought for, then mourned in burn;
Gain — held and lost, taken then spurned.
I asked the Soul: why torn by contradiction’s art?
It tore the good and bad apart, and spoke its part:
Desire — mad and clinging, greedy yet afraid;
Passion — charms then chills, in love and hatred laid;
Love — brings joy and grief, unites and breaks the braid;
Home — holds laughter, tears, gathers and will fade.
About the Author:
E-Bai, born Wang Zenghong, is a retired military officer, cultural scholar, and writer currently residing in Shenzhen. With over three decades of artistic practice spanning poetry, prose, music, painting, photography, and sound art, his works have garnered over a hundred awards in various competitions. He was awarded a Second-Class Merit for outstanding achievements in literary and artistic creation.
