Handelsbanken’s new Bournemouth office, crafted by AxisHouse, embodies Scandinavian charm with a bold palette of blues and greys, weaving the bank’s Swedish origins into every design detail. Geometric patterns adorn the boardroom back panel, Zoom room wallpaper, and kitchen splashback, serving as subtle nods to its Nordic heritage. Natural materials and warm textures soften the professional ambiance, creating a cohesive aesthetic that aligns seamlessly with the bank’s brand identity while feeling inviting to both staff and clients.

Functionality takes center stage in the flexible layout, tailored to meet the bank’s expanding capacity needs. A large boardroom splits into two via folding doors, adapting to meetings of varying scales, while dedicated Zoom rooms offer privacy for virtual discussions. Open-plan desking fosters collaboration, and a kitchen-café serves as a communal hub for relaxation. Every zone is thoughtfully designed to balance productivity with comfort, ensuring the space evolves with the dynamic demands of a modern banking team.

Acoustic ceiling baffles control noise, creating a serene environment that reduces stress and enhances focus. This holistic approach turns the office into more than a workspace—it’s a sanctuary that nurtures the team’s physical and mental wellbeing.
