Teleworking

(遠程辦公)

Teleworking is a flexible work model enabled by digital tools and the internet, in which employees do not commute to a central physical office but perform their job duties from a location outside the traditional office environment–such as their home, a co-working space, or a coffee shop. It fundamentally redefines where and when work happens, commonly taking the form of fully remote or hybrid arrangements. By reducing commuting pressure and reshaping demand for urban office space, teleworking helps to support a healthier work-life balance.

Digital Nomads

(數字游民)

Digital nomads are location-independent professionals who work remotely via the internet, often in creative or knowledge-based fields. They pursue a lifestyle that blends work with leisure, freely moving across regions or even countries. This mobility channels talent and innovative energy into smaller cities and rural areas, boosting local economies and fostering community revitalization. In recent years, several Chinese regions–including Lishui City in Zhejiang and Huangshan City in Anhui–have launched initiatives like “Digital Nomad Hubs” to attract such professionals.
