大連沿海地區旅順、龍王塘、金石灘、杏樹屯等海域盛產海蠣子，暢銷國內外。4月中旬，正是大連地區海上人工養殖海蠣子投放最佳時機。工人們將帶有海蠣子幼苗的貝殼穿成串，均勻夾在繩子上投放到大海里，讓海蠣子在大海里自然生長。
