“我們不是仇日，是把歷史的真相講出來”

“我們不是仇日，我們是要把歷史的真相講出來，我們希望歷史不要重演，”張盈盈說。

張盈盈是美籍華裔作家張純如的母親。如今，她已年過八旬，卻依然在延續女兒未竟的事業，提醒世人銘記歷史、警醒未來。

"Our goal is not to hate Japan, but to tell the historical truth so that history does not repeat itself," said Chang Yingying, mother of the late historian and author Iris Chang.

Chang Yingying, now in her eighties, continues her daughter's unfinished mission, urging remembrance and vigilance to ensure that history does not repeat itself.

2025年12月13日，是第十二個南京大屠殺死難者國家公祭日。1937年的南京，是中華民族記憶中一道無法愈合的傷痕。

八十八年過去了，一些日本政客仍試圖掩蓋、歪曲和淡化這段歷史。然而，總有人為了真相，義無反顧地堅守。

On Saturday, China observed the 12th National Memorial Day for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre. In 1937, Nanjing suffered atrocities that left an indelible scar on the nation's memory.

1997年，張純如出版了《南京大屠殺：第二次世界大戰中被遺忘的大浩劫》，她用文字為三十萬遇難同胞奔走吶喊，讓西方世界正視這段被掩埋的慘痛歷史。

張純如曾說：“文字是保持人類靈魂精華的唯一方式。”

2004年11月，她在36歲的年紀結束了自己的生命。她生前常說，人死有兩次：一次是生命的終結，另一次是在人們記憶中消失。她對歷史的熱情、信念與勇氣，至今仍通過文字留存。

Iris Chang once wrote, "Words are the only way to preserve the essence of the human soul." She believed that a person dies twice — first physically, and again when they are forgotten. Her passion, courage, and commitment to history continue to live on through her words.

位于美國加利福尼亞州城市圣何塞的張純如紀念公園于2019年建成，設計師里查德·多伊奇將公園主題定為“一人之力”（"The Power of One"）。

張盈盈坦言，自己最擔心的就是歷史會被遺忘。她說，我們這一代人生長在和平年代，未曾親歷戰爭的殘酷。通過文學、媒體與藝術不斷講述那段歷史，是讓記憶得以延續的方式。否則，當這段記憶在數代人之后被淡忘，歷史的悲劇必將重演。

Chang Yingying expressed her deepest concern that the memory of the massacre could fade with time. "We must continue to preserve and share this history through literature, media, and art," she said. "If we fail to do this and the memory will fade completely within a few generations, history is certain to repeat itself."

銘記歷史、講好歷史，從來不是過去式，而是進行時。
