本周我們學習和懸疑相關的詞匯

1. cliffhanger/?kl?f?h???/

n. 懸念;未知的結果

e.g. The episode ended on a cliffhanger, so I couldn’t wait for the next one.

e.g. The future of the project remains a cliffhanger.

補充：episode 集數

adj. cliffhanging 有懸念的

搭配：a cliffhanging ending/ moment/cliffhanging scene

e.g. The film has a cliffhanging ending that keeps viewers talking.

1. shadowy /'??d???/

adj. 昏暗的、充滿陰影的

搭配：shadowy lighting/ alley 昏暗的燈光/小巷

e.g. The director uses shadowy lighting to create a tense and mysterious atmosphere.

e.g. A scream echoed through the shadowy alley, sending chills down everyone’s spine.

補充：send chills down one’s spine讓人不寒而栗;毛骨悚然

adj. 神秘的;可疑的

搭配：a shadowy past不光彩;神秘的過去

e.g. He has a shadowy past that no one knows much about.

3. red herring

n. 煙霧彈;干擾線索

e.g. The director planted a red herring to mislead the audience.

e.g. What seemed like a crucial clue turned out to be a red herring.

補充：mislead v. 誤導

近義搭配：a false lead: 錯誤線索

e.g. Several early clues were false leads, making the case even more confusing.

e.g. The police pursued a false lead, which delayed the investigation.

補充：clue 線索

1. eerie /'??r?/

adj. 詭異的；神秘的

搭配：an eerie feeling; atmosphere詭異的氛圍/感覺

an eerie silence:陰森的寂靜

e.g. The abandoned house had an eerie atmosphere that made everyone uneasy.

e.g. This place has a distinctly eerie atmosphere.

補充：uneasy adj. 不安的a

近義：creepy adj.令人毛骨悚然的

e.g. There was a creepy silence in the room, broken only by the ticking clock.

e.g. The movie had a lot of creepy scenes, which made it both thrilling and terrifying.

補充：thrilling adj. 令人激動的
