東部戰區新聞發言人李熹海軍大校表示，12月30日13時00分，中國人民解放軍東部戰區陸軍部隊，協同海軍、空軍、火箭軍等兵力，對臺島南部相關海域，實施遠程聯合火力突擊，并組織實彈射擊，取得了預期效果。
