招什么人，做什么

地點 SF 辦公室 in-person，周薪約 $3800，6 月 15 日開工，9 月 15 日結束，合同期三個月，個別可延。申請截止 5 月 15 日，6 月 1 日出結果

Greenhouse 上的職位描述

要求是 STEM 領域在讀或已完成的 PhD，也接受同等研究經驗。沒有 ML 背景可以，官方說 「scientific judgment 和快速學習」 比這更重要

核心工作，官方拆成三件事

第一條是

Designing rigorous, hard-to-game evaluations that measure whether models can plan experiments, interpret data, and reason about mechanisms in your field, and systematically finding where they're confidently wrong.

翻譯過來，就是設計一套模型沒法背下答案的評估，測它在你領域里會不會規劃實驗、解讀數據、推理機制，把它答得很自信但其實答錯的地方，系統揪出來

第二條是

Identifying or creating data and techniques that target capability gaps.

找或者造數據和方法，填 Claude 在你領域里的能力盲區

第三條是

Applying Claude to open problems in your domain, by using various test-time compute strategies and integrating relevant scientific tools/software.

把 Claude 用在你領域里的 open problems 上，配合各種 test-time compute 策略，把相關的科研工具和軟件集成進來

例子是官方給的兩個。一位材料科學家發現，Claude 在 phase stability（相穩定性）這個問題上推理不過關，就建一條 pipeline 批量產出 property prediction（物性預測）任務填這個坑。一位氣候科學家把大氣建模工具集成進來，搭出一個能把 Claude 推出錯的環境

申請階段的四道問答題

申請階段要答四道問答題。前三題問你的 STEM 領域專長、ML/AI 經驗、Claude Code 使用情況。第四題是這么問的

Propose one or two concrete ideas for evaluating, improving, or applying Claude in your field that you think are promising and would be excited about.

Anthropic 在 AI for Science 這條線上已經鋪了四年

四年，四層，這次補的是人

2024 年末開 AI for Science Program，給學術機構免費 API credits，生命科學優先

2025 年 10 月發 Claude for Life Sciences，把 Claude 集成進 Benchling、PubMed、10x Genomics，從 literature review、statistical analysis 一路覆蓋到 clinical protocol、regulatory submission。Opus 4.5 在 Protocol QA 這個 benchmark 上拿到 0.83 分，高于 0.79 的人類 baseline

2026 年 3 月開 Science Blog，專門發內部科學家的工作和外部合作。首發一篇是物理學家 Matthew Schwartz 寫的「Vibe physics: The AI grad student」，講他監督 Claude 做一個理論物理計算的過程

現在，是在補人

前三層給的是算力、工具、內容，都能采購或者產品化。第四層給的是 tacit knowledge，領域專家腦子里的判斷力

知道什么算好 benchmark，知道模型哪個答案 confidently wrong，知道什么數據能真正撬動能力。這些在論文里找不到，在 paper pipeline 里也看不見

前三層能采購，第四層只能請人

三個值得琢磨的細節 一，要求已經是 Claude 日常用戶

這條篩掉了「想來試試 AI」的科學家，留下已經在用 Claude 做事的那批。前者是新人，后者已經完成了 AI 滲透，知道模型能做什么，也知道模型在哪里不行。后者交付更快，學習曲線更短

二，申請階段就要交具體想法

第四道問答題讓你 propose 在你領域內 evaluating / improving / applying Claude 的 concrete ideas。Anthropic 收到這些答卷，實際上是拿到一份眾包的 AI4S 領域地圖，來自全世界的 STEM PhD。哪怕最后沒被錄取，你的想法也已經進了他們視野

三，目標是找 confidently wrong

第一條工作描述里的關鍵詞是 confidently wrong，模型答得很自信但答錯了的地方

這類錯誤通過 benchmark 很難發現，需要領域專家站在現場看。找出來之后，就是下一版模型要消除的

找問題的人是博士，改模型的也是

順便一句

類似的事兒 OpenAI 也在干。他們的 Residency 六個月，月薪 $18300，招數學、物理、神經科學那邊的人

不過方向是反的。OpenAI 想把領域人才轉成 AI 研究員，Anthropic 是把領域人才腦子里的知識直接搬進 Claude
