北京時間2月20日，據《阿斯報》報道稱，西班牙將與中國于6月舉行一場友誼賽，這也將是雙方自2012年后的首次交鋒。
在2012年6月的友誼賽中，中國隊的主帥是西班牙名帥卡馬喬，最終中國隊以0-1小負西班牙。
卡馬喬于2011年8月正式上任中國國家隊主帥，于2013年6月30日下課。
