當(dāng)康奈爾大學(xué)、愛丁堡大學(xué)、曼徹斯特大學(xué)、華威大學(xué)等英美名校發(fā)來的一封封錄取郵件接連彈窗，馮雨佳站在了權(quán)衡事業(yè)與學(xué)業(yè)的十字路口上。

遠(yuǎn)赴海外深造？踏上創(chuàng)業(yè)之路？尋覓就業(yè)機(jī)會(huì)？每一個(gè)選項(xiàng)的背后，都有師長(zhǎng)與親友真誠(chéng)的想法建議、真實(shí)的經(jīng)驗(yàn)教訓(xùn)。

但哪怕是最親近、最信任的人，也不是“自己”。馮雨佳的選擇，是“走出自己的路，做和別人不一樣的選擇，迎接更多的不確定性”。

在高--校畢業(yè)生就業(yè)形勢(shì)并不樂觀的當(dāng)下，她延期前往常青藤名校康奈爾大學(xué)讀研的決定，成為了一項(xiàng)“非典型”選擇，是一趟未知的旅途。

但決心“跳出舒適圈”的她，滿懷憧憬、樂在其中。如今的她，即將成為全球四大會(huì)計(jì)師事務(wù)所之一普華永道的一員。

01

特別幸運(yùn)，擁有選擇的權(quán)利

寧波素以開放聞名，在這片土地扎根生長(zhǎng)的寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)，也把開放與自由視作立身之本、動(dòng)力之源。

擁有來自全球70多個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)的近萬名師生，與40個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)的近150所海外一流院校建立合作關(guān)系，全面應(yīng)用小班化、全英文和互動(dòng)式的教學(xué)，學(xué)校外籍教師占比超過60%……

這樣的氣質(zhì)已浸潤(rùn)到校園的每一寸肌膚、每一根血脈，讓懷揣夢(mèng)想而來的馮雨佳，擁有了磨練自己、反思自己的廣闊舞臺(tái)。

在這里，她學(xué)會(huì)了“大膽想象”。無數(shù)優(yōu)秀學(xué)長(zhǎng)學(xué)姐從校園出發(fā)，在學(xué)術(shù)領(lǐng)域或社會(huì)領(lǐng)域?qū)崿F(xiàn)了傲人的發(fā)展成就，讓“從不覺得自己最頂尖”的馮雨佳，很快擺脫了剛?cè)雽W(xué)時(shí)“有些迷茫、不太適應(yīng)”的狀態(tài)，擁有了走進(jìn)全球頂尖高校、世界一流企業(yè)的信心。

在這里，她學(xué)會(huì)了“多元發(fā)展”。從羽毛球校隊(duì)主力到學(xué)生職業(yè)發(fā)展協(xié)會(huì)副部長(zhǎng)，從全運(yùn)會(huì)志愿者到中國(guó)證券從業(yè)資格證的持有者，世俗眼中的“象牙塔”沒有讓馮雨佳自縛手腳，反而幫助她鍛煉了能力、豐滿了人格。

在這里，她學(xué)會(huì)了“堅(jiān)定追夢(mèng)”。身邊的同窗和師長(zhǎng)會(huì)時(shí)常給予她中肯有效的建議；來自各行各業(yè)的專家學(xué)者會(huì)在學(xué)校組織的講座上傳授經(jīng)驗(yàn)；校內(nèi)的就業(yè)指導(dǎo)部門也時(shí)刻關(guān)注著學(xué)生的成長(zhǎng)軌跡，給予她職業(yè)生涯以方向引導(dǎo)，提供各種類型的實(shí)習(xí)機(jī)會(huì)。

寧諾的開放和包容，給予學(xué)生們更多的發(fā)展空間。它讓我意識(shí)到，人生并非筆直向前的單一軌道，而是一片自由的曠野。這不是放蕩不拘的自由，而是精神世界的自我主宰。”馮雨佳說，“我覺得自己特別幸運(yùn)，擁有選擇的權(quán)利。”

在這座通達(dá)世界、包羅萬象的人才孵化園里，馮雨佳堅(jiān)定地、勇敢地種下了獨(dú)屬于她的小小夢(mèng)想，正在開放雨露的澆灌下抽枝發(fā)芽。

不害怕挑戰(zhàn)未知

選擇畢業(yè)后延期出國(guó)，毅然投身就業(yè)浪潮，這恐怕是極少人愿意做的大膽嘗試。

成為第一個(gè)“吃螃蟹的人”，需要百煉成鋼的專業(yè)能力，更需要無懼無畏的戰(zhàn)斗勇氣。怎樣邁出這一步、走好這一步，是寧諾給予馮雨佳最大的財(cái)富。

面對(duì)“按部就班當(dāng)好學(xué)生”和“進(jìn)入普華永道就職”的選擇時(shí)，她并非沒有猶豫。

顯然，繼續(xù)保持學(xué)生的狀態(tài)，前往常青藤聯(lián)盟的名校讀書，無疑是一條最平順、最通暢的道路，與年幼時(shí)“一定要出國(guó)深造”的夢(mèng)想相契。

與此同時(shí)，馮雨佳遭遇的面試對(duì)手，或是頂尖國(guó)內(nèi)高校的本科生，或是留學(xué)歸來的研究生，儼然是“千軍萬馬過獨(dú)木橋”的嚴(yán)苛競(jìng)爭(zhēng)場(chǎng)景。

所幸，這些困難沒有干擾她的判斷、阻攔她的腳步。

在寧諾求學(xué)的經(jīng)歷，早已給予她闖關(guān)“HARD模式”的信心。“上課的時(shí)候，老師經(jīng)常鼓勵(lì)我們多思考、多提問題，我們也常常需要小組協(xié)作完成任務(wù)。這些歷練讓我變得更加敢于表達(dá)自我了，在和牛校畢業(yè)的學(xué)長(zhǎng)學(xué)姐一起面試時(shí)也能非常自信。”跨文化溝通、思辨思維和領(lǐng)導(dǎo)能力，成為馮雨佳脫穎而出的堅(jiān)實(shí)底氣。

也正因如此，面對(duì)周遭的擔(dān)憂和疑問時(shí)，她可以從容自信地作答，“這樣的決定很勇敢，但我愿意花時(shí)間挑戰(zhàn)未知。”

永遠(yuǎn)在路上擁抱不期而至的

機(jī)遇，追逐不被定義的人生

寧諾，究竟是一所怎樣的學(xué)校？“機(jī)會(huì)多、自由度高、包容性強(qiáng)。”這是馮雨佳的理解與詮釋。

正是在這樣的環(huán)境里，馮雨佳和有著相同志趣的同窗一起，以最大的熱情擁抱不期而至的機(jī)遇，向隨波逐流、亦步亦趨Say No，從青澀稚嫩的“白紙”一步步成長(zhǎng)為具有獨(dú)立人格的成熟個(gè)體，勇敢追逐不被定義的、精彩紛呈的人生。

As her graduation certificate from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) found a place on her wall, and letters of acceptance from renowned universities such as Cornell, Edinburgh, and Manchester arrived, Yujia Feng found herself at a crossroads. A crossroads of contemplating between starting a career or pursuing further education. More specifically, she would either further her studies abroad or embark on an entrepreneurial journey to explore employment opportunities. Yujia decided to forge her own path and embrace heightened uncertainties.

Presently, she stands on the threshold of joining PwC, one of the four largest accounting firms in the world. Given the somewhat bleak employment outlook for recent graduates, the decision to delay studying abroad for a year represents an "unorthodox" choice, a voyage into the unknown. Yet, fueled by her firm determination to venture out of her comfort zone, Yujia exudes optimism and excitement.

UNNC, with nearly ten thousand students and staff from more than 70 countries and regions worldwide, has cultivated cooperative relationships with over 140 top-tier colleges and universities in over 40 countries and regions. UNNC delivers an English-language, interactive, small-class teaching approach, with over 60% of its faculty from abroad. This, and the university's open-minded and liberal culture provided a vast platform for Yujia, who arrived in Ningbo with dreams and ambitions, to train, grow and now reflect on her work.

Here, she learnt to boldly envision her goals. Numerous UNNC alumni have achieved great accomplishments in the academic and social fields, inspiring her to develop the confidence required to compete with the best from top universities and corporations.

At UNNC, she learnt to "develop diversely". From being a volunteer for the All-China Games, to passing the qualification exam for Chinese securities practitioners, the university has polished her abilities and built on her personality.

At UNNC, she learnt the art of relentlessly chasing her dreams. Peers and tutors provided practical and effective advice, visiting experts and scholars shared experience in lectures, and the university's career guidance department provided support for growth, giving students career direction and internship opportunities.

"UNNC's openness and inclusiveness offer students an array of developmental opportunities. It made me realise that life isn't just a single straightforward trajectory but a vast and free wilderness," Yujia said. "I feel particularly fortunate to have had the privilege of choice."

Opting to postpone studying abroad for a year and being a part of the employment wave after graduation is a bold move that few dare to take. Undoubtedly, maintaining her status as a student and attending university would have been the smoothest and most straightforward path, perfectly in sync with her dreams of studying abroad. Further, the job interviews Feng Yujia faced involved harsh competition among graduates from top domestic universities and returnees from foreign postgraduate programmes. It was a challenging environment. Fortunately, these hurdles neither interfered with her judgment nor halted her progress.

Her experience at UNNC has given her the confidence to overcome various barriers. Cross-cultural communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills have become her solid foundation making Yujia stand out amongst competition.

"Plentiful opportunities, a high degree of freedom, and great inclusiveness" are UNNC's values, said Yujia. It is within such an environment that Yujia, along with her like-minded peers, embraced unexpected opportunities with great passion. Gradually, they evolved from naive and inexperienced “blank sheets” into mature individuals with independent personalities, boldly pursuing a boundless life of endless possibilities.
