宋人尚古,尤重玉器。此鹿皮童子,和田玉質,生坑未盤,灰皮裹體,紅沁深入肌理,如血漬經年,斑駁陸離。童子作蹲伏狀,面容渾圓,眉目不清,然憨態可掬,衣褶簡率,刀法粗獷中見精微。
灰皮者,土沁之證;紅沁者,鐵質所侵。二者相疊,恰似歲月疊加之印記。宋時匠人未必有意為之,而今人觀之,竟覺天趣盎然。玉本死物,經千年埋藏,反得生氣,豈非造化弄人?
此物雖小,然灰皮紅沁之間,自有一種滄桑意味,令人生"物猶如此,人何以堪"之思。
