Tucked in the semi-basement of a 19th-20th century “gaioleiro” building—Lisbon’s iconic old housing typology—the 64 m2 Bar?o Sabrosa Apartment turns a once-limited space into a bright haven. The sharp level difference between the street and the rear courtyard is no longer a constraint; instead, it becomes a natural light channel, letting sunlight pour in from above, gilding the corners and softening the “underground” chill, as if weaving a warm veil over the historic structure.

巴羅?薩布羅薩公寓面積 64 平方米，藏身于里斯本一座 19 至 20 世紀典型的 “gaioleiro” 風格建筑半地下室中 —— 這種住宅類型是里斯本的經典老建筑符號。它將原本受限的空間，改造成了明亮的休憩之所。街道與后院的顯著高差不再是束縛，反而化作天然的光通道，讓陽光從上方傾瀉而入，為角落鍍上金邊，柔化了 “地下” 的陰冷感，仿佛為這座歷史建筑織就了一層溫暖的紗幔。

AURORA arquitectos’ design starts with “respect for the old”—they refused to break the building’s original arches, instead using “light elements” to converse with them. These elements, with simple shapes and light materials, split the open space into functional zones: a living area by the light, a dining nook in the shade, and a sleeping corner hidden gently. When light passes through the elements, it casts soft shadows on the arches, making the old structure seem to “breathe” with the new design.

AURORA arquitectos 的設計始于 “對舊物的尊重”—— 他們沒有打破建筑原有的拱門結構，而是用 “輕盈元素” 與之對話。這些元素造型簡約、材質輕薄，將開放式空間劃分出功能分區：光線旁的起居區、陰影里的用餐角、被溫柔遮擋的睡眠區。當光線穿過這些元素，在拱門上投下柔和的影子，老建筑仿佛便與新設計一同 “呼吸” 起來。

For the residents, this apartment is more than a place to live—it’s a “tiny world” that connects history and daily life. In the morning, sunlight filters in to wake up the room, and the warmth of the light on the skin chases away the sleepiness. At dusk, the arches and light elements together create a soft glow, making the 64 m2 space feel cozy rather than cramped. Every time they brush past the arches, they touch the city’s memory; every time they sit in the light, they enjoy the comfort of the present.

對居住者而言，這間公寓不只是棲身之所，更是連接歷史與日常的 “小世界”。清晨，陽光濾入喚醒房間，皮膚觸到的光線暖意驅散困倦；黃昏，拱門與輕盈元素共同營造出柔和的光暈，讓 64 平方米的空間不顯局促，反而滿是溫馨。每一次擦肩而過拱門，都是與城市記憶的觸碰；每一次靜坐于光影中，都是對當下舒適的享受。

The 80 m2 building area hides a careful balance between function and emotion. The light elements don’t block the view, keeping the space open; the preserved arches don’t feel outdated, blending into the modern life. When night falls and the indoor lights are turned on, the apartment becomes a bright spot in the old “gaioleiro” building—proof that even semi-basement spaces can bloom with poetic charm under thoughtful design.

80 平方米的建筑占地里，藏著功能與情感的精妙平衡。輕盈元素不遮擋視線，讓空間始終保持通透；保留的拱門不顯陳舊，與現代生活自然融合。當夜晚降臨，室內燈光亮起，公寓便成了老 “gaioleiro” 建筑里的一抹亮色 —— 它證明，即便半地下空間，在用心設計下，也能綻放出詩意的魅力。
