Yichang, a major regional hub connecting the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, is home to both the Gezhouba Dam — known as the first dam on the mighty Yangtze — and the Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest hydropower project. 長江江豚，作為長江生態系統的指示性物種，曾一度瀕臨消失。如今，被譽為“長江微笑天使”的江豚成群歸來、逐浪嬉戲。

The Yangtze finless porpoise, an indicator species of the river's ecosystem that was once on the verge of disappearing, has made a remarkable comeback. Known as the "smiling angel of the Yangtze", these porpoises now gather in groups, leaping and playing in the waves.

漫步宜昌濱江，與江豚“同框合影”，已不是稀奇事，而這正是長江生態修復最美的注腳。
