On Ukraine's Security and Tripartite Dialogue

Following the meeting between U.S. President Trump and Russian President Putin in Alaska, the leaders of the European Union and key European nations issued the following statement:

"We welcome President Trump's efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict and achieve a just and lasting peace. Europe stands ready to collaborate with the United States and Ukraine to advance preparations for a trilateral summit involving Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia, with European support .

Ukraine's Sovereignty and Security Guarantees

Ukraine must possess ironclad security guarantees to effectively defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders. We welcome President Trump's commitment that the United States is prepared to provide such guarantees. The 'voluntary coalition' of nations is ready to play an active role in this framework .

No Restrictions on Ukraine's Defense and Partnerships

Ukraine's armed forces and its cooperation with third countries must remain unimpeded. Russia cannot veto Ukraine's path to EU and NATO membership .

Territorial Integrity and Sanctions

Ukraine alone shall determine its territorial issues, and international borders must not be altered by force. As long as the conflict persists, Europe will continue to impose pressure on Russia through strengthened sanctions and broader economic measures targeting its war economy .

Unity in Support of Ukraine

We reaffirm our unwavering support for Ukraine. To end the war and secure sustainable peace, we are determined to enhance Ukraine's capabilities further. The EU and its member states will continue to provide military, financial, and humanitarian assistance, including through the €50 billion financial package for 2024–2027 .
