1月20日，韓國政府將李在明2024年年初遇襲事件定性為“恐怖襲擊”。
2024年1月，李在明訪問釜山加德島時，遭一名持兇器男子襲擊，頸部受傷流血倒地，后被送往醫院接受治療。襲擊者被判處15年監禁。
