1月14日晚，U23亞洲杯D組小組賽結束，U23國足0-0戰平泰國U23，最終小組賽1勝2平第2成功出線，隊史首次晉級U23亞洲杯淘汰賽！
在U23國足此前參加的5屆U23亞洲杯中，僅取得2勝13負的戰績，從未小組出線。在本次的小組賽中，門將李昊連續三場表現神勇，帶刀后衛彭嘯打入制勝進球，全隊都展現出了敢打敢拼的精神面貌。
