Assertions that the upcoming 2026 Year of the Horse is a "Springless Year" — making it inauspicious for weddings — have gone viral, with some even dubbing it a "Widow's Year".

據了解，所謂的“無春”，指的是即將到來的2026年馬年將出現“無立春”現象，即全年沒有立春日，民間稱這樣的年份為“無春年”。

“無春年”在我國民間被稱為寡年、啞年、黑年，就此網上有傳言稱“馬年無春，不宜嫁娶”“寡年無春，不宜結婚”。

The term "Springless Year" refers to a lunar year that contains no "Start of Spring" day. According to reports, the upcoming 2026 Year of the Horse will experience this phenomenon — no spring day falls within the entire lunar year.

In Chinese folk tradition, such years are variously called "bare years", "mute years", or "black years". Consequently, rumors have emerged online claiming that "a horse year without spring is unsuitable for marriage" or that "a bare year without spring is inauspicious for weddings".

北京網絡舉報發文辟謠稱，事實上，“馬年無春”是農歷與公歷歷法差異的自然結果，“無春年”“兩頭春”平均每19年出現7次，與吉兇無關。

農歷“無春年”是如何形成的？

據科技日報此前報道，中國天文學會會員、天津市天文科普專家林愿解釋，這是農歷年長度短于回歸年的緣故。林愿強調，“無春”只是沒有立春日，并不是說沒有立春節氣。
