它曾是大理石與柚木構(gòu)筑的遠東傳奇，承載著上世紀的榮光與暗影；

她亦是書香與藝術(shù)浸潤的文化殿堂，見證了一座城市的精神涅槃。

it once stood as a far eastern legend in marble and teak, bearing the gilded dreams and shadows of last century; it later transformed into a sanctuary of books and arts, witnessing the spiritual metamorphosis of a city.

當歷史的煙云掠過拼花地板，新生的晨光漫過博物館長廊——這座建筑，終以沉默的磚石，成為上海百年年輪中厚重的詩行。

as history whispers through its parquet floors, and dawn's renewal spills across the museum corridors, these silent stones have become the deep stanzas in shanghai’s century-long epic.

解放后，該建筑先后成為上海圖書館、上海博物館、上海美術(shù)館，2015年末“上海市歷史博物館”建設(shè)項目正式啟動，2018年3月上海市歷史博物館正式對外開放。

after 1949, the building successively housed the shanghai library, shanghai museum, and shanghai art museum. in late 2015, the shanghai history museum construction project was formally launched, with the institution opening to the public in march 2018.
