It portrays the cooperation between Wuyue ruler Qian Hongchu and Zhao Kuangyin, the founding emperor of the Song Dynasty, in advancing national unification.

截至1月31日晚上，該劇在網絡平臺已更新至第20集。

據媒體此前報道，一位從事責任編輯工作多年的熱心觀眾指出，正在熱播的電視劇《太平年》片尾“特別鳴謝”版塊多處文字及署名錯誤，引發關注。

1月30日，記者將此事反映給了該劇后期制作方——鼎盛佳和（北京）文化傳播有限公司。

當晚，該公司相關工作人員回應記者稱，已關注到此事，感謝媒體和熱心觀眾反饋。對方表示，已上線劇集暫時無法更正，后續劇集將打補丁修改。
