約翰洛克寫作競賽（John Locke Essay Competition）從極富趣味性和挑戰(zhàn)力的寫作題目出發(fā)，旨在培養(yǎng)參賽者的議論文寫作能力，考察參賽者對于不同學(xué)科領(lǐng)域獨(dú)立深刻的見解、廣博的認(rèn)知、清晰的說理能力、批判性地分析思維能力和說服力。鼓勵年輕人培養(yǎng)將好學(xué)生變成偉大作家的特質(zhì)：獨(dú)立思考、知識深度、推理清晰、批判性分析和說服力。征文比賽邀請學(xué)生探索學(xué)校課程范圍之外的各種具有挑戰(zhàn)性和有趣的問題。

參加John Locke寫作競賽可以積累知識，提高論證技巧。評委們將從每個學(xué)科中選出一篇“最佳論文”。此前參賽者被牛津、劍橋、普林斯頓、哈佛、耶魯、斯坦福、芝加哥、加州伯克利等名校錄取。

06John Locke獎項(xiàng)設(shè)置

John Locke最佳論文的候選人將獲得John Locke Institute Junior Fellowship，附帶10,000美元的獎學(xué)金，用于參加學(xué)院一個或多個暑期學(xué)校或gap year課程。每個學(xué)科類別的獲獎?wù)邔@得價值2000美元的獎學(xué)金，可用于支付John Locke的課程費(fèi)用，論文將在學(xué)院網(wǎng)站上發(fā)布。

每篇文章應(yīng)解決所選主題中的一個問題，可提交多篇論文。

不得超過2000 字（不包括圖表、數(shù)據(jù)表、腳注、參考書目或作者聲明）

?評判標(biāo)準(zhǔn)

論文將根據(jù)知識水平和對相關(guān)材料的理解、證據(jù)的有效使用、論證的質(zhì)量、結(jié)構(gòu)、寫作風(fēng)格和說服力來評判。建議考生盡可能準(zhǔn)確直接地回答問題。抵制各種形式的抄襲作弊行為。

?費(fèi)用

提交論文不收取任何費(fèi)用，但逾期報名需要提交25.00 GBP（延期7天）或75.00 GBP（延期21天），必須在逾期后24小時內(nèi)支付。
