綜合日媒報道，日本總務省消防廳稱，截至當地時間2月9日8時30分，自1月20日以來的強降雪已在日本全國造成46人死亡、549人受傷。
日本《朝日新聞》通過調查得知，死者中有41人為60歲以上。大部分人疑因在清除屋頂等的積雪和進行除雪作業時發生事故。
